Lough Ramor is a shallow and rocky lake requiring skillful and careful navigation.

Fish finders are a great way of  increasing your catching chances and keeping you safe in the process. It can read where the fish are, it will give you depth and water temperature information and return you to your favorite fishing spot with the aid of GPS. In recent years fish finders have become increasingly more sophisticated. They also vary widely in price and like everything else, you get what you pay for. Early models simply flashed to indicate the presence of fish. Today with very much improved electronics, you can get things such as LED back lit LCD units with HD resolution. The best fish finders today are similar to watching TV of the under water and display features with great clarity. The proof is in the pudding this week. Pictured below are a brace of Pike all caught on the fly. Hot orange pike flies again proved to be the top choice. All pike where caught with in 90 minutes of locating a hot spot area on Lough Ramor. It was also a pleasure to welcome back Daniel Levy whom had been out of action for much of the winter.

Lough Fishing Buddies practice catch and release and use only barb-less hooks while fly fishing.
